27 June 2023Haránt Artúr creates imaginative illustrations for Budapest’s Mad Scientist, a unique craft beer brand celebrated for its unconventional design. Haránt questions reality, drawing inspiration from various sources: ancient symbolism, creation myths, fantasy worlds, and even psychedelic trips. His designs create ‘order from chaos’ and fit the Mad Scientist identity.
Haránt explains that some of his designs are not what they seem: “The point is when you look at them from afar, you see a totally traditional, boring, a thousand-time-known label template… up close you get a ‘WTF?!’ feeling.”
Haránt references the Hungarian author Antal Szerb to summarise this style: "Poetry begins where reason lays down its weapon." ✨
